Vortex Venom 5-25×56 FFP EBR-7C

Venom 5-25×56 FFP EBR-7C is the newest tactical riflescope from Vortex Optics. It’s the first of its kind, giving us a taste of what to expect from the new Venom series of riflescopes. The American manufacturer plans to release tactical models that are suitable for beginners but packed with extra functions. Ideally, that means that once they’ve got the basics down, new tactical shooters will be able to tap into Venom’s full potential, rather than “outgrow” a beginner scope.

Suited for Starters, Ready for the Next Step

The most obvious helping hand is the sturdy 34-millimeter tube that lends itself for spacious 85 MOA / 25 MRAD of turret travel. The added bonus of Venom tactical turrets is the zero stop mechanism (Vortex markets it under RevStop™ name) – a feature that is rarely seen on entry-level scopes.

The magnification power of this model is 5-25x and the magnification ring comes with a throw lever already in the box. Pair that up with crisp turret clicks, and adjustments on Venom 5-25×56 FFP can be made in a blink of an eye.

Fine Lines and Longer Range

Let’s take a good look at the EBR-7C reticle design and what it means for the user. Fans of the Vortex brand are well familiar with this reticle, as it is heavily featured in Viper PST Gen II and Vortex Razor HD Gen II riflescopes.

EBR-7C At a Glance:

  • First Focal Plane
  • Bullet Drop & Wind Drift Compensation
  • MOA or MRAD Configuration
  • 5-25x Zoom Range

The EBR-7C reticle is a hashmarked ranging reticle available in MOA and MRAD variations

Long-range shooters and competition shooters like the superfine center dot because it makes establishing a perfect zero easier, while the longer, tree-shaped holdover lines aid in making quick wind and elevation corrections.

Since this reticle design is etched onto the glass surface, there is no fear of lines moving out of position over time.

Thanks to the 25x maximal magnification, users will be able to get a nice shot at 1000 yards (cca. 920m) and beyond.

Changing the Game

Tactical and competitive shooting are not easy interests to pursue while on a tight budget. Equipment, tactical gear, and rugged optics can cost you a pretty penny, even at the starting level. But at least Vortex Optics doesn’t believe that the tactical segment has to remain a rich man’s game. With over 30 years of industry experience and a plethora of successful tactical releases in their back pocket, the brand has taken on perhaps the biggest challenge yet. Namely, to create a quality tactical scope at a price tag that lets you go deep for less; without whittling the product down to bare necessities. Vortex Venom 5-25×56 FFP will get you in the game for $699.99 and then go the extra mile to keep you in the running.

Vortex VIP Warranty

Choosing an affordable scope can cost you a fortune down the line. Scope maintenance, repairs, and possible replacements are something to be considered. While most manufacturers try to skimp on after-sales services for their entry-level models, Vortex is a bright exception to this rule. All Vortex models come with an unconditional lifetime VIP warranty, and this one is no different. Should anything happen, the manufacturer will simply replace your model with a new unit, no questions asked.
