Introduction

Vortex is a very successful American company which produces all kind of optical instruments for hunters, bird watchers, hikers and so on. All binoculars in this series have a unique design – a housing nicely rounded from the ocular to the objective. This design is a consequence of using the Abbe-Koenig prism system, which is, as we know, the most difficult to produce, but it offers the best image possible in binoculars. With these products, Vortex entered the premium market, in which are only a few producers, that offer binoculars with that prism system. These producers are for example Zeiss with the Victory HT binoculars, Swarovski with SLC binoculars, Docter 8×56 ED/OH and GPO with the Passion series.

The new Vortex binoculars feature redesigned UHD glass which additionally increases the image quality. The UHD binoculars feature XR™ Plus fully multi-coated lenses that are applied with their special plasma tech coating application. Phase correction on the roof prism additionally enhances the resolution and contrast of the image, and the ultra-hard ArmorTek® coating on the outer lenses protects them from scratches, oil, and dirt.

The chassis of the Vortex Razor UHD binoculars is made of a magnesium alloy which is extremely strong but very lightweight at the same time. Additionally, rubber armor protects the outer surfaces from damage, and it provides a better non-slip grip. On the bottom, a nice thumb rest is integrated, for an even better comfort when observing. The entire chassis is completely waterproof and filled with argon gas to prevent internal fogging in cold weather.

The eyecups on the Razor UHD binoculars are adjustable with a simple twist, so every user can find a comfortable position, and it doesn’t matter if you use the binoculars with or without eyeglasses. They are made of metal and reinforced with rubber. On the right eyecup, the diopter adjustment ring is located. The true open hinge design adds to the ergonomics while decreasing the total weight of the products. All Razor UHD binoculars feature a tripod adapter.

They are all covered with the great Vortex Worldwide Lifetime VIP Warranty, so your product gets repaired or exchanged no matter the cause of the damage.

Conclusion

The Razor UHD binoculars are, for now, the most expensive binoculars from Vortex. We are pretty sure that not only are these optically the best, but also the brightest of all the binoculars from the Vortex product range thanks to the Abbe-Koenig prism system.
