Vector Continental scopes are a big hit among hunters in need of feature-rich scopes that won’t make a sizeable dent in their wallets. For a reasonably priced series, the variety of scope configurations is truly commendable.
All that’s been missing from the line-up was a lowlight specialist for hunting. Vector Optics Continental 2.5-15×56 is here to set that to rights. Available in two reticle options (BDC and German 4) and priced a bit over 500 EUR, this model will give you more for less.
- multi-coated 56mm lens
- 30mm single-piece tube
- aircraft-grade 6061 T6 aluminum
- extremely rugged → shock-tested at 750 gs
- .338 Lapua Magnum recoil-proof
- IPX6 waterproof
Vector Continental scopes are built from a 30mm aluminum monotube. For a scope with a 56-millimeter lens, only 670 grams (23.6oz) of weight are impressive.
Comfortable eye relief of about 100mm (4″) away from the ocular lens is possible at all times, with a generous eyebox to boot. The diopter compensation can be adjusted on the eyepiece (+2 to -3).
Despite the elegant streamlined design, Vector Continental 2.5-15×56 is made to last. Tested for maximum recoil, the scope can be used on magnum caliber rifles and perform without a hitch.
All Continental models are nitrogen-charged, protecting the scope insides from moisture and internal fogging of glass surfaces. Waterproof and sturdy construction will bear the brunt of any accidental impact, so you don’t need to keep your kid gloves on.
- 1/4 MOA click value
- max. windage & elevation → 110 MOA
- low and capped
- turret lock system
- side focus → 10m to infinity
- 6 intensity levels of illumination
Vector Optics Continental 2.5-15×56 sports typical hunting turrets, that is low and capped. Since this model is intended for use in the dying hours of the day, the white high-visibility markings will be especially useful.
The turrets move smoothly but not audibly, with 1/4 MOA clicks. The easy return to zero feature is an unexpected bonus in this price range. The maximum adjustment range of W&E turrets is 110 MOA.
The parallax setting can be adjusted from 10 meters to infinity. For improved ease of use, focus marks are enumerated on the side turret: 10, 15, 20, 30, 50, 75, 100, 200, 500, and ∞.
- extra-low dispersion glass
- magnification: 2.5-15x
- 6x zoom factor
- field of view: 2.8-16.6m/100m
- glass-etched reticle → BDC or German 4
- 6 illumination levels
Extra-low dispersion glass reduces color fringing and other optical distortions.
The >90% light transmission is achieved with a sizeable lens and multiple layers of varnish on all glass surfaces.
The constant 6x zoom factor is the key winning feature that will separate Continental 2.5-15×56 from the competition. Powerful zooms require higher production standards or the point of impact will shift. This usually means a higher price point for the end-user, unfortunately. Since this Continental 2.5-15×56 will go for less than 600 euros, you’ve got yourself a steal.
Continental 2.5-15×56 is available in two reticle variants – BDC and German 4, both illuminated. The level of intensity can be adjusted from 1 to 6. Another premium touch is the glass-etching technique, so the reticle design won’t fade away with time.
