Swarovski BTX eyepiece

About the product

Swarovski has managed to improve their spotting scopes which already had a reputation of being the best on the market. The new add-on – which is rather big and not that aesthetically appealing – allows you to look through the scope with both eyes open. Consequently, the image is very bright and the overall optical experience is pleasant. The image seen is actually a mono image because of the single objective but the experience is much more convenient because you can look through with both eyes.

Spotting scopes have had a seemingly never-ending problem with eye-relief but Swarovski managed to fix this by adding a headrest and eyepieces similar to those binoculars have. Leaning on the headrest, the user’s eyes rest on the eyepieces comfortably which helps prevent eye fatigue. The headrest’s position is adjustable so it can be set to the most comfortable position, and distance between both eyes can also be set. There are three objectives on which BTX can be put (65 mm objective, 85 mm objective, 95 mm objective). With 65 mm and 85 mm objective, BTX has 30x magnification and with 95 mm objective BTX has 35x magnification. This is a massive device which is going to be quite pricey. Nevertheless, Swarovski has once again challenged its competition by introducing an innovative, promising device. At the moment, there is no spotting scope on the market that would offer a more comfortable use.
