The Schmidt & Bender company uses various acronyms when referring to the features of their riflescopes, which often causes confusion among buyers. For this reason, we have decided to write a complete list of their acronyms, explaining the meaning of each. We provided pictures next to some of them. The acronyms are organized alphabetically.

¼ MOA
The click value of the riflescope’s turrets is approx. 0.7 cm / 100 m (1/4 MOA).
1/8 MOA
The click value of the riflescope’s turrets is approx. 0.35 cm / 100 m (1/8 MOA).
1 CM
The click value of the riflescope’s turrets is 1 cm / 100 m (0.1 MIL/MRAD).
1.5 CM
1.BE
The reticle of the riflescope is in the first focal plane.
2.BE
The reticle of the riflescope is in the second focal plane.
BDC H (ASV H in German)
The elevation turret is equipped with a bullet drop compensation mechanism.
BDC HS (ASV HS in German)
Both elevation and windage turrets are equipped with a bullet drop compensation mechanism.
CC
The riflescope is equipped with the ‘Close Combat’ mode – when chosen, the parallax is switched from 100 to 25 m when the magnification power is set at 1x (this feature is only available on some wide-angle S & B riflescopes).
CCW
Counter-clockwise turret rotation (rotating the elevation turret counter-clockwise moves the POI up, rotating the windage turret counter-clockwise moves the POI to the right).
CW
Clockwise turret rotation (rotating the elevation turret clockwise moves the POI up, rotating the windage turret clockwise moves the POI to the right).
CT
The turret is capped (refers to the windage turret in all cases as of May, 2020).
DT
Double Turn turret (the elevation turret can be turned for 720°).
DT II
An upgraded version of the DT (Double Turn) Schmidt & Bender turret with a visible turn indicator, MTC or Zero Click and a locking function.
DT II+
An upgraded version of the DT II (Double Turn) Schmidt & Bender turret with a tactile turn indicator, MTC or Zero click and a locking function.
FD
The Flash Dot feature is an illumination technology designed by Schmidt & Bender – once the illuminated central dot is turned off, no black dot is visible in the center.
FT
The riflescope is designed for Field Target shooting.
LI
The riflescope features a lockable illumination turret.
LM
The riflescope is made of Light Metal and comes without a rail.
LMC
The riflescope is made of Light Metal and comes with the Schmidt & Bender Convex rail.
LMS
The riflescope is made of Light Metal and comes with the LM rail.
LMZ
The riflescope is made of Light Metal and comes with the Zeiss ZM/VM rail.
LP
the riflescope features an adjustable parallax and an illuminated reticle.
LT
The turret on the riflescope is lockable.
MT
Multi Turn turret (the elevation turret can be turned for 1080° or more)
MT II
An upgraded version of the MT (Multi Turn) Schmidt & Bender turret with a tactile and visible turn indicator, MTC and a locking function.
MTC
More Tactile Clicks (each 10th click is more pronounced ,which makes it easier for the user to quickly dial in the desired number of clicks).
P
The riflescope features an adjustable parallax.
Pantone 7504M
The riflescope comes in the yellowish-brown colour (a lighter tone compared to RAL8000).
PM
Police Marksman series of Schmidt & Bender riflescopes.
Posicon
Posicon turret adjustments are color-coded allow the user to identify the position of the reticle by looking at the turret.
ST
Single Turn turret (the elevation turret can be turned for 360°).
ST II
an upgraded version of the ST (Single Turn) Schmidt & Bender turret with a great temperature resistance and the S-Spring technology (a very accurate tracking mechanism).
ST II-B
Similar to the ST II turret but comes with 6 position indicators that the user can place at any position on the turret according to the ballistic trajectory of the used ammunition.
SZC
A riflescope with a Zero Stop feature; the turret is stopped below zero.
RAL8000
The riflescope comes in the yellowish-brown colour (a darker tone compared to Pantone 7504M).
ZS
The riflescope’s elevation turret is equipped with the Zero Stop feature (once the zero is set, the user can quickly return to zero from any setting because as the turret will stop there).
ZC
A riflescope with a Zero Stop feature; the turret is stopped directly at zero.
