Introduction
Rusan is one of those manufacturers that we really like to work with. They say that you never forget your first one and the same can be said about Rusan. We’re working with them from the beginning. Rusan is producing very high-quality products and their reputation on the market is growing by each day. Location wise Optics trade company and Rusan are relatively close to each other. It is about an hour drive from Optics Trade headquarters so we could say we’re almost neighbours. Some time has passed since we visited their factory last time and unfortunately, time flies. We see and meet each other on various events, shows, fairs and each time we promised each other we’ll come for a visit. So we took a day off and went to check their facilities again.
About Rusan
The company was founded in 1983 in Croatia but the gunsmithing process and manufacturing of the mounts began already in 1990. In 2005 they began to manufacture their own weapons under the brand MIKRON and took a big step forward in 2017 when they joined both Rusan and Mikron companies together under one name RUSAN-MIKRON. Since then they have become known in the field of producing the mounting solutions and that is where the main focus is at the moment. With their exceptional products, they have become globally known. The founder Željko Rusan is still active in the firm, but his son Ivan is slowly going into his footsteps and already working hard to take their ” family business” into the future.
Our cooperation
Our cooperation began in 2012 when we started to sell their products and has been going pretty well since the beginning. Their products are very well designed and durable which offer a good balance between the quality and price which helps a lot with the marketing. The warranty claims and returns are almost zero. Our main focus is to have a lot of their products in stock so we have a solution for as many specific rifles as possible. We do however refresh our stock of Rusan products on a weekly basis and appreciate that the turn around time is on pace with ours.
Rusan factory
We visited their factory in Marija Bistrica in Croatia. They’re a typical example of how one can grow from a one-person Željko Rusan to a big company with more than 30 employees. They work in 2 shifts so the machines are not on halt but rather working at all time. Their CNC machines are top quality and really modern. They have proven that beside mounting solution they’re one of the leading companies which produce adapters for night-vision and thermal devices. They are also famous for producing great pivot mounts.
One of the main features of this visit was an underground shooting range which felt completely like straight out of the James Bond movies. The range gives them an excellent opportunity to test all their products. They plan to expand their facility even further because the current ones are getting too occupied with various CNC machines, testing machines for rifles, etc. It is no secret that their employees like to work in such an environment if we take into account that we spent almost half of our lives at work, such an environment is a must in any company and Rusan- Mikron is good at providing it. Probably their success comes from this as well.
Conclusion
Cooperation with RUSAN-MIKRON has always been a pleasure. They always help us with their mounting solutions and we also like to return a favor from time to time. We’re really looking forward to working with them in the future and we do hope they’ll continue with their incredible line of products in the future. Seeing their whole manufacturing process is a blessing and we would like to come back more often than before.
