One of the novelties from Noblex at IWA 2018 was Noblex Glock MOS sight which originates from the QUICKsight. The field of pistol red dot sights is rapidly growing in the market of sports optics. More and more manufacturers are aware of the rising competition in the department of red dot sights. Noblex is one the first in the world to release such a category of red dots for pistols – the first of its kind Glock MOS Sight for pistols. As we know, most of the classic red dot sights for pistols are of the reflex type. When the sight will hit the market it will be initially available only with 6 MOA dot size. These optical products are quite big for the use on pistols. One of the major trends is that such red dot has a bigger window from generation to generation. Products from Noblex who follow this example are Docter Sight G, Docter Sight III, and Docter Sight C which in its latest version has a much bigger window than the predecessors. The mentioned red dots are the most common choice for Glock and other pistols.
This red dot is extremely resistant in all means possible. It’s water-resistant, waterproof and shock-resistant meaning that it can withstand harsh weather conditions and difficult terrain. When mounted, the red dot is aligned with the pistol housing with the exception of 8–10mm raised glass window.
The technology of the red dot glass reflection is completely modified with this model in comparison with the classic red dot sights. On the classic red dot sights, there is only one window and an LED which is placed in front of the window. Noblex Glock MOS sight, however, has two windows and an LED which is placed underneath the optical part. The dot allows absolute co-witness with the sights on the pistol, which is a uniqueness of its own to be found amongst reflex red dot sights for handguns. It’s interesting to know that the other red dot sights cannot be aligned with the sights because of the height of the housing. Since the device is very low and compact, you can easily overlook it on a pistol. The Primary field of use of the Noblex Glock MOS sight is not in the shooting range – it’s all about keeping it small, concealed and compact when shooting, moving and carrying your handgun. The device looks like as if it would be the part of the Glock pistol which arrived fresh from the production facility.
The expected retail price of this device is going to be around 500 €. The sight will be available on the market somewhere in between June and July. In the future, we can probably expect similar models for other handguns. Noblex Glock MOS sight is, on the other hand, the most compact and small pistol red dot sight in the world. For this particular reason, it’s highly appropriate for a concealed carry and practically for anyone who is looking for a red dot for EDC (everyday carry).
