Meopta Optika started 2020 with a lot of new products. One of them are the 1-inch tube hunting rifle scopes MeoPro Optika 5, more information about which can be found here. At IWA 2020 which was postponed to September, they wanted to present new binoculars in 3 different series. The names of the series are MeoStar B1, MeoPro AIR and MeoPro Optika LR.
Meopta MeoStar B1 10×42 R and MeoStar B1 8×32 RX
Meopta expanded the MeoStar B1 line of binoculars with 2 new models. The MeoStar B1 10×42 R and 8×32 RX are designed for competition shooters since they are the only binoculars in the entire Meopta range that feature an integrated reticle for calculating the distance to a given target. The reticle is located in the right barrel of the binoculars and they feature a patented crosshair rotation system to ensure the reticle always remains horizontal.
The entire body is made of aluminum to ensure great water, dust and impact resistance. The housing is completely rubberized for a better grip and to absorb impacts. They feature an HD optical system for edge to edge clarity. The diopter correction is on both barrels to ensure a crisp image and reticle.
Meopta MeoPro AIR
The Meopta MeoPro AIR is a completely new series of binoculars and the first binoculars from Meopta with a modern open-hinge design. There will be 2 models available – 8×42 and 10×42. Both binoculars are made from magnesium and are rubber reinforced for excellent wear and impact resistance. They are waterproof, dustproof, and can easily withstand changing temperatures.
The HD optical system provides sharp edge to edge pictures with a great contrast and clarity, thanks to the fluoride HD components. Between the two barrels are the focusing knob and the diopter adjustment.
Meopta MeoPro Optika LR
The second binoculars series in the Meopta inventory that features an integrated laser rangefinder is called Meopta MeoPro Optika LR. These binoculars have a magnesium body that is completely rubberized for wear and impact protection. They feature an HD optical system to provide the user with a sharp image with a great clarity and contrast. The light transmission rate is 85 % and the interpupillary distance can be adjusted from 56 to 76 millimeters.
The new Meopta MeoPro Optika LR binoculars will be available in two configurations – Optika LR 8×50 and Optika LR 10×42. On both models, the diopter correction is located on each barrel and can be adjusted to +/- 4D.
The most important part of these binoculars is the laser rangefinder, which is a great improvement from the previous generation of LRF binoculars from Meopta, the MeoRange. In the Optika LR 8×50, the laser can measure up to 2740 meters, and in the Optika LR 8×42 up to 2380 meters. The accuracy on such a long distance is +/- 1.8 meters. For operation, only 1 CR2 battery is needed.
Meopta started 2020 with a lot of new products, and we were quite impressed that they introduced so many new binoculars in one year. They all look very promising, but unfortunately, we don’t have the prices yet. Especially the Meopta MeoPro Optika LR binoculars have great potential, since a laser rangefinder is a great gadget on every hunting trip.
