Docter sight II plus IPSC

Introduction

Docter sight II plus IPSC looks like the ordinary II plus model but is designed specifically for pistols. Physical properties

Docter sight II plus IPSC has a very traditional look – it is small and compact. The window is of regular size. Zeroing of the device is done via two screws – the screw for regulating elevation is located behing the glass body above the LED while the screw for setting windage is on the right. Before adjustment on any of these turrets is made, the user has to loosen the lock of adjustment mechanism (2 screws on the back side of the device). In the box, you also get an adjustment disk (see the picture below). Both turrets are clockwise. The device can withstand extreme temperatures – Docter claims that this device still operates at -25°C.

Optical properties

The device features a 7 MOA dot which is large enough to make target acquisition easier when shooting on short distances. Once the CR2032 battery is inserted on the bottom of the device (magnetic), the device is automatically powered on. Illumination intensity is regulated automatically with the help of the sensor on the front side of the device, right below the glass. When the sight is inserted into the provided protective cap, sight II plus IPSC enters a power saving mode. The dot is easily visible in the daylight and does not shine too bright in the dusk. It runs on 1.07x magnification but that does not bother the user who can still comfortably look through the window with both eyes open. Unfortunately, some blue tint can be seen while using the device.

Conclusion

In shaded areas, the dot definition is not too powerful to disturb the user; in bright areas, the dot is strong enough for the user to quickly locate it – Docter sight II plus IPSC’s dot is great for all kinds of situations in sport shooting. This lightweight, compact device is definitely a great buy.
